No Sleeves featured in January 21st Issue of FRIDAY
January 11, 2011

So I went to my local Kinokuniya the other day and found a pleasant surprise – No Sleeves are featured on the cover and inside of the latest issue of FRIDAY!

I don’t usually like to buy FRIDAY because it’s a tabloid magazine and tends to feature… mature pictures in it, but I was so excited seeing No Sleeves on the cover that I couldn’t resist ^u^ Check out the scans below. Four words: TAKAMINA LOOKS EFFING GORGEOUS :cute::cute::cute:

No Sleeves appointed as MCs for TBS show “Kyun Kyun”
January 11, 2011

Announced on December 27th, No Sleeves have been appointed to be the main MCs for TBS’s Kyun Kyun ~Dakara Moteru! Koi no Kyun-teku 2010~

Scheduled for broadcast on December 27th, the No Sleeves members – Takahashi Minami, Kojima Haruna, and Minegishi Minami – will try to be “cool women” by learning little techniques to grab men’s hearts. The girls will learn how to text the guy after the party, how to hold a microphone during Karaoke, which songs one should sing at Karaoke, and many more!

As supporters, Matsushima Naomi (of ‘Othello’), and Yuki Maomi will make their appearances.

I’m not sure if this is going to be a permanent thing, since I haven’t seen any more episodes appear yet (then again I’ve been out of commission for a while so I might have missed them), but I think the idea of the show is absolutely adorable and I got a chance to watch it when it first came out, and I loved it. I love it when the girls get to talk about girly things like this, and it’s always great seeing Kojiharu, Takamina, and Miichan together and talking like this ^_^

Takamina and 15 other AKB48 members selected as new “image” of H.I.S. CM
December 26, 2010

It was recently revealed in a December 20th article that Takamina and 15 other AKB48 members have been selected to be the new “image” of H.I.S new CM. For those of you who are unfamiliar with H.I.S, H.I.S is a travel business group that features a wordwide network of travel agencies, hotels, and other companies such as holdings and insurance companies. I tried translating the news article since it was rather short, and while it may not be perfect you can read the translation here:

AKB48: Shinoda Mariko, Takamina led 16 member group, in the colorful CA appearance “Yes!” “H.I.S” new CM

Idol group AKB48 will appear in travel agency H.I.S’s “First Dream Fair” CM wearing colorful cabin attendant costumes, which will be revealed in 20 days. It will be broadcasted across the nation except in Kansai on the 27th.

In the CM, Shinoda Mariko, Takahashi Minami, Kojima Haruna, Yokoyama Yui, Kashiwagi Yuki, Sashihara Rino,  Miyazawa Sae and 16 total members will perform “Ikitakatta Ikitakatta Ikitakatta~YES!”, (I wanted to go, I wanted to go, I wanted to go~ YES!) a parody of AKB48’s big hit “Aitakatta”, and “go abroad” to convey that message.

“First Dream Fair”, with H.I.S and AKB48, is a special commemorative item collaboration, such as 48 yen round trip hotels accommodations and transportation plans in Hawaii and Guam. (Translator’s Note: I couldn’t really make out the last sentence clearly, but I believe it was talking about how the company has expanded since its formation on January 3rd, 1999, the prices of its tours, and how popular spots include Seoul and Taiwan.)  (Mainichi Shinbun Digital)

I am extremely excited to see this CM. Not only because Takamina is in it, but I find the fact that they’re going to do a parody of Aitakatta extremely hysterical ^^ I’ll post more news on the CM when the time comes and it is revealed, but until then enjoy some of the promotional images:

No Sleeves featured in Special Oricon Interview
December 26, 2010

Just like how Takamina was featured in a very lengthy, insightful, picture filled interview back when her 1st photobook was released, No Sleeves was recently featured in a Special Oricon Interview as well! It features interviews with the group as a whole, asks the members individual questions, and also include a lovely photo gallery. Check it out on the Oricon website over here, or just check out the images of Takamina and No Sleeves here:

I think what’s really interested is that the article does not only feature an interview, but also mini Q&A sessions and more interview questions in the days approaching the album’s release date.  Here’s a translation of Takamina interview on December 22nd, translated by Saya on Stage48.

Q. What kind of person do you (Takamina) see Kojiharu as?
【Takamina】Nyannyan is just as she looks, my paced. But there are times when I am saved by her my pace-ness.
Because I am the type who gets really really nervous, during those times she tells me “It’s alright.” It doesn’t have a base, but I am saved by that “It’s alright.”
【Kojiharu】 That’s because Takamina thinks about anything deeply~.
【Takamina】Thinking too much becomes really bad feeling.
【Kojiharu】 I am the type who doesn’t really think about stuff to deeply.

Q. What kind of person do you (Takamina) see Miichan as?
【Takamina】“The younger sister.” Even though I dislike it, I really think it would be nice to have this kind of little sister. She’s like a cat, like a free and selfish/willful tsundere. When she wants to be spoiled/fawned upon, she is, there are also times when she acts rude. (not sure about that last part)
【Miichan】 But when I go over, Takamina runs away!
【Takamina】 You’ve got it wrong. I am just waving about a little, sometimes being nice, it’s cute so it’s good.
【Miichan】That’s gross! (laugh)
【Takamina】You always hate that. (laugh)
【Miichan】 Takamina likes cats!, huh?
【Takamina】 Because I can’t keep cats, I am satisfied with Miichan!

I thought both mini interviews were very cute, and it’s a great chance for the fans to read about how the girls interact. I also think Takamina described Kojiharu and Miichan perfectly. I remember in the 2010 Team A Visual Book Kojiharu was voted the “My Pace” King out of all the Team A members, so I thought about that and giggled to myself when I saw Takamina said that ^_^ Kojiharu also seems like that kind of cool, laid back kind of person. I also thought the banter between Miichan and Takamina was hysterical xD I also felt bad whenever I rewatch Takamina’s private video and she tells the fans about her cats, and then says that she’s allergic. It’s adorable to know that Miichan is like a little to Takamina, and I think that also makes Miichan’s cuteness level rise even further ^u^

Anyway the interviews seem really fun to read and check out, so keep frequenting the Oricon page as No Sleeves’ album release date approaches to read the other interviews! ❤ And remember – the album hits stores on January 1st, 2011, so preorder your copy today!

Just a little burst of TakaAcchan love…
October 11, 2010

So there really isn’t a real point to this post, I am just finding this overly assuming right now:

You just gotta love the utter look of “DO NOT WANT!” on Takamina’s face [hehe] Show Takamina your love, Acchan… (On a side note… why the hell wasn’t this in the Heavy Rotation PV?!)

Also I’ve come to the realization that I do not do as much Takamina/Acchan fangirl as I should (since this is a Takamina fanblog after all, and I consider Acchan to be a significant part of Takamina’s life) so I’ve now made a TakaAcchan catagory. So keep your eyes peeled for more Takamina and Acchan love from now on ^_^

Make-Up Like Takamina! (Pt. 2)
October 9, 2010

So originally I was going to wait to talk about this until I could find the name of the magazine this scans came from, but I haven’t been able to figure it out. Anyway, here are some recent magazine scans of No Sleeves, where they are talking about how they feel about beauty, fashion, and hair.

I can’t make everything out, but here’s a little gist of what Takamina was saying for each catagory:

Beauty –  She mentions a face cream that she recieved from Acchan. The cream is La Mer Moisturizing Cream, and after some research I’ve found out that it’s supposed to be some really amazing stuff! It’s regarded as an extraordinary miracle cream, and is supposed to smooth out creases and wrinkles on the skin and makes your skin softer and firmer (I also believe Takamina mentions how it makes your face feel all nice and soft like a baby’s, but don’t quote me on that). Takamina seems to really love it though, and she thanks Acchan too ^^

Interested in picking up a jar? You’ll have to save up, but you can buy some here!

La Mer Moisturizing Cream (can also be found here) – Comes in 1 oz. ($130), 2 oz. ($230), or 16.5 oz. ($1390) sizes.

Fashion – Takamina was saying how she doesn’t really like or care about fashion itself, but she loves going shopping ^_^ That’s one thing I’ve always admired about her – you see Takamina in sweat pants and comfy clothes all the time, and she really doesn’t care how she looks. I just love how she’s always so chill and chooses comfort over fashion.

Hair – Of course, Takamina talks about how her signature hair style is a ponytail with a big ribbon in it. And how did this “Takamina hair” come to be? I think Takamina was mentioning how she was always afraid to cut or change her hairstyle, so that’s one reason why she never messes with her hair. Another? She just loves ribbons :3

And in case anyone is interested, I also found the product that Haruna was talking about: rienda suelta Sweet Holic Body Mist. It can be purchased here (through the use of a deputy service, unless you live in Japan) for 1,900 yen (approx. $19). And sorry for Miichan fans, but I couldn’t make out what product she was talking 😦 Still, hope you all enjoyed this! ❤

September 27, 2010

No Sleeves recently performed on GIRL POP FACTORY. They sang their fifth single, “Kimishika,” along with “Toki no Kawa no Koete,” a cover of Ushirogami Hikaretai’s 1987 song of the same name. What makes the performances really special and awesome is that the girls are singing totally, utterly, and completelylive; plus they are accompanied by a live band, which always makes things awesome. “Kimishika” sounds especially beautiful in my opinion [inlove]. Check them out on YouTube here:

Takahashi Minami Oricon INTERVIEW-01 Part 1 Translation (Oricon Interview Part 1 of 4)
September 25, 2010

Upon the released of her first photobook “Takamina,” Takamina was recently featured in a two part interview on Oricon Style’s website. The interview discusses not only her photobook, but also her time spend in AKB48 and the interview that she had with AKB48 producer Akimoto Yasushi. The interview was broken up into two parts: INTERVIEW 01: “At AKB48’s first stage…” and INTERVIEW 02: “At the interview with Akimoto-san…”.

I absolutely freaked out when I caught wind of the interview, mainly because I feel that Takamina does not get as much media attention as she deserves, so the fact that it was a two part interview with pictures, on Oricon no less, made me nearly die of happiness. So, being overwhelmed with pure happiness and curiousity as to what the interview might entail, I decided to give a go at translating it. However, since this past week was crazy and now this week is going to be very very busy for me with school, I am going to be posting the translation in four parts: INTERVIEW 01 will be broken up into two parts, as will INTERVIEW 02. Originally I planned on posting the whole thing in one go, but I underestimated not only the size of the interview but also the vocabulary (just the part I did seemed to take forever =_=). However I’d like the Takamina fan community to be able to read and enjoy something like this, even if it may not be perfect, so as long as people can be patient I decided that little by little I’d like to work on translation the entire interview ^_^. Once again, please keep in mind again that this is only my third year studying Japanese, so I’m pretty sure my translations will be a little far from perfect. Nevertheless, I hope you all enjoy Part 1 of 4 of Takamina’s Oricon Interview! ❤

Takahashi Minami Oricon Interview-01 Part 1: “At AKB48’s first stage…”

I’m really thankful that I was free to do as I pleased.

――1st Photobook “Takamina” has been completed. How did it turn out?

【Takahashi Minami 】Well~ , I think that this had so many contents that were full of substance that we had more things than we could fit and it became really packed!

――Certainly the accepted contents approached your charm from various different angles. Can you tell us what you learned from the first photoshoot episode?

【Takahashi Minami 】Generally speaking it was fun. Rather than deciding to take pictures, I was told to act as I normally do, feel as if I was relaxing at home, touch a cat on the sidewalk, run after a duck on a sandy beach and chase it will all of my might…… (laughs). I’m really thankful that I was free to do as I pleased.

――You got to go to Enoshima during the photoshoot at Kamakura, right?

【Takahashi Minami 】This was the first time I went there. So, I almost felt like a tourist. I think I probably should have remembered what I saw, but I just remember eating, so I’m really sorry (laughs).

――It was a photobook that left a good, continuous impact.

【Takahashi Minami 】Especially the pictures of me taken by other members…… they’re terrible!

――Why? Rather than feeling plain, I think that fans feel as if they were close to your presence.

【Takahashi Minami 】There’s also a photo printed on the book dust jacket, “Why would they put it on this?”, such a bad, stupid shot (cries). But, I guess it’s good, because it’s me (laughs).

――Well then, what are your favorite recommended shots?

【Takahashi Minami 】The shot on the outside cover where I’m chasing a duck (laughs). The people around me really rave about it and say “That’s Takamina.”

――A photobook that can only be Takamina’s. Not only is it true, the interviews are thick with content.

【Takahashi Minami 】In this way I felt really thankful that I was able to chat (laughs). Not only since the beginning of AKB48, but the 19 years of my life, I packed it all!

Just Another “Takamina” Photobook Promotion Clip
September 25, 2010

Here’s a recent news clip of Takamina promoting  her photobook “Takamina,” which was released on September 22nd. She mentions how there aren’t any bikini shots in it, and shows how underneath the dust jacket cover the actual book has a picture printed on it of Takamina chasing after a duck (I died laughing for a good 10 minutes after I saw that; how epicly hillarious is that? xD). At the end of the clip someone also asks about the Janken tournament, and it seems as if Takamina has had enough rock-paper-scissors for the time being ^^ Anyway it’s a really enjoyable clip, so check it out!

Takahashi Minami in FLASH magazine (October 2010)
September 23, 2010

Takamina recently appeared on the cover of the October issue of FLASH magazine. Not only did her appearance feature some previews from her photobook, but also included an interview. Check out the scans here!
