AKB48: The Video Game!!! (Shit just got real…) UPDATED 9/15

It was bound to happen sooner or later. AKB48 has conquered basically all forms of Japanese media – CDs, DVDs, manga, books, 7-11 bento meals; you name it, and AKB probably has some affiliation with it. Now, an AKB48 video game is going to be released! Idols before them have branched out into the video game market (Morning Musume, Aya Matsuura), so the idea of a video game starring an idol group is nothing new to Japan. Still, the fact that AKB48 is finally getting a video game is definitely exciting!

Unlike the Morning Musume and Aya Matsuura video games, which were released for the PS2, The AKB48 game will be a dating simulation game for the PSP (Play Station Portable). The title of the game is AKB 1/48 Idol to Koishitara…., and it will feature all 48 members. The concept of the game is that you (the player) have to choose 1 girl and reject the other 47. The setting is that all of the members love you, and you have to dodge all of their confessions and attempts to get with you, so ultimately you end up with the girl of your choosing. (The thought of playing a dating sim game where you can end up with Takamina… holy sweet hell…)

Just… damn. While the other of having to reject the other 47 girls is a bit sadden and messed up, I think it’s hillarious that AKB48 is releasing a dating sim game where you actually can ‘get’ with your favorite member. The prices are definitely wallet rape up the ass, however I’m going to be insane and try and save up for the Premier Special Pack. Granted it will cost me like $400, but I don’t have a PSP so I’m gonna need to buy one anyway, and considering all the extra shit you get with the game, for a game, system, tons of bonus stuff, and plus it’s AKB (which means expensive), I don’t think it’s that bad. I’ve been wanting to buy a PSP anyway (there’s so many games I want to play… Hatsune Miku, K-ON!, Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan….) so this is the perfect excuse ^^

Thank God the game is being released on December 23rd – that’ll give me plenty of time to save up for it, and if I can order it on the day it comes out I can always wait and see if I get any Christmas money ^_^ Anyone else thinking or planning on getting it?❤

UPDATE 9/14/10: TAKAMINA SCREENCAP!!!!!😀
